Very impressive collection of jerseys, and I really liked the pictures of Lemond with varying degrees of mud in the classics.

Thanks for your work!

Very Happy Ha, sorry Nicolas. I don't know how to get around the copyright thing. Besides, we have lawyers among us so it is probably best not to advise people to break laws......... Laughing

I have the special edition A3 size TdF edition of Winning for 89 & 90. Not sure where I can get them scanned though due to the size.

I need your adress and timetable so that I can sneak into your house and steal those babies Laughing ...

No, what I'm interested in is pics & interviews but from what I've seen every issue is full of them so, if you have a little spare time it's cool, if not...no problem.

As for the big A3 specials, I managed to grab the 86 & 89 ones. I don't need a full scan for the 90 issue, just the Lemond pics if you can.

Thanks !

Lofter:

I remember in approx. 1988 or so (might have been 1987), a Winning magazine that included an interview with Fignon, where he criticized LeMond for always playing the roll of the "lame duck" (I think that is what it said). They interviewed Fignon while he was on some island somewhere. If you have the time, I would love to be able to read that article again....

Hey Stephan,

Haven't scanned it yet but as I was re-organizing my bike magazines I found a piece covering the 1981 Circuit de la Sarthe with Greg LeMond as defender (he won in 1980) in the Gitane team and Fignon in the french amateur team.

If I can dig out some cool Fignon stuff I'll let you know.

Last update : June 1st, 2009 :

-Updated jersey collection with new additions & replicas

-Updated pictures from 1981 (Tour de l'Oise win, rare pic with an interesting similarity with the worlds 1989 win), 1983 (Dauphiné win) & 1985

Thanks for looking

Cool stuff, Nicolas.

I am sure that you noticed this before, but I had a chance to look at and photograph LeMond's 1983 world's bike. It is now behind glass at our local velodrome. He didn't clean it...it still has the dirt from Switzerland on the down tube(!). Also he must have flatted during the race, because one of the wheels is Campagnolo (the other is simplex/maillard). Really neat stuff. Roger Young, who runs the velodrome, let me photograph it...and I would have ridden it, had I felt worthy enough. But something just didn't seem right about doing that!
