I'm restoring a 1983 Gitane Sprint road bike and looking around for high resolution decal references for this model so that i can have them built ...unless someone has an extra set kicking around that they'd be willing to sell. If you could please post pics of these decals, with dimensions i would greatly appreciate it!
In particular the seat tube, down tube, top tube and fork arms as seen here:

| That is a decal design which hasn't been reproduced by anyone yet. In general, it hasn't proven as popular as some of the other designs (i.e. the 1983/84 "bubble" logo or the late 1970's "boxes"). |

| Ya i've looked around and never find this gem. I actually think it's a really cool decal - reminds me of one of the Motobecane decals. Very retro looking. I have a guy who rebuilds stickers, it's just that i need someone to take some close up pics so i have some sort of reference to send him. |

| Those are definitely close (with regards to the style and shape), but are NOT bicycle frame decals. They are more "hobby" decals for your workbench or garage. They were never put on frames and were a promotional item only. |

| i've seen these here and there - like em, but i want to restore the Sprint to as close as possible. I sent off that high rest pic of the Super Corsa from the 83 catalog - to a few bicycle decals makers. i'm hoping that'll be enough, but until i find other references that's all i have to work with. This is the fun with restoring bikes ...will be all the more appreciated when i do find these babies! |
