Check it out. Not mine, but if I was two inches taller, it might be! Rolling Eyes

Do you mean this one?

Looks really great! This is a classic example of the upgrades owners did to their TdFs back in the day: good leather saddle (usually Brooks Pro or B17), Campy or Suntour derailleurs depending on budget, Cinelli or 3TTT bars and stem. Many owners changed from sewups to clinchers.

A couple of minor nit picky things, the wheels where changed from less expensive Campy Nuovo Tipo sewup wheels with economy rims to top quality Campy Record hubs and Mavic rims. Also it has standard Lyotard 36 steel "rat trap" pedals instead of the Lyotard 460D alloy pedals that came with the bike. Lastly the Gitane SERVICE COURSE decal is a sensible but wrong place in the middle of the top tube instead of the front where the brake cable clamp can tear it up!

All in all it's a nice looking bike. Cyclomondo decals! Cool

What makes this a 1972 model? The Nervex Dubois fork crown, swagged seat stay caps, long point Prugnat Type S lugs and no rear brake cable bridge (see some of my other posts for more details). The bike could have been made from late 1971 to early 1972.

Too tall for me - but it looks great and I think I could look past the few "inconsistencies".

Mentioned for "educational purposes" only... Wink

BTW, it's a 60cm frame measured center to top - the way Gitane did it.
