Hinault won the race twice on his Gitane (1977 & 1980). The 1980 edition is one of the all-time greatest races ever. Would love some pictures from that race! The photo posted is actually from 1981 - attached is one from 1980. I also liked the link about WWII. I've also attached a photo of Fignon during the 1987 Vuelta(?). Can you confirm this. When Gitane rode in Spain in 1986 and 1987, they took on another sponsor, because Systeme U wasn't in Spain. So in 1986, it was Pegasus (autos), in 1987 it was Bose.
