I've been watching the "live coverage" on cyclingnews.com or reading the reports later in the day, and thought Peraud and Pinot on the podium was worth a post. Two Frenchmen on the podium for the first time since 1984 (Fignon and Hinault in first and 2nd) They might not be there if Froome and Contador hadn't left the race. I was cheering for Pinot today, since he's with FDJ, managed by the Madiot brothers. He dropped to third after Peraud, but still had a good day and stayed ahead of Valverde who didn't. Too bad FDJ aren't riding Gitanes, but at least Lapierre is a French bike. |
