My new purchase...this GITANE MACH1600 , with alloy frame and carbon fork, SHIMANO "tiagra" crankset and front derailleur , 105 rear derailleur.
I have not seen this model in the catalogs , I think it is made with columbus but I am not sure ... Is it a French built or a Taywanese built ? I dont know the year model .
the weight is 21 lbs .

Likely "made" in China, and then painted, finished, and assembled in Romilly-sur-Siene, outside of Paris.
The cool thing about that frame is that it is in the colors of the now defunct Gitane "Big Mat" team! While they didn't use those actual frames, the colors and decals are the same. Tres cool! |

I don't know much about the bike but, it really looks good. Especially on top of Ventoux. Very jealous |
