just like to wish all you chaps a merry xmas and happy new year from the
other side of "the pond" . we have been hit pretty hard lately in the uk with lots of snow and ice and general arctic conditions so not much in the way of cycling been achieved recently. i have put the team pro rep "to bed" for the winter. in its cosy shed. its had a good polishing and greasing come spring i will fit new tubs and a new simplex rear mech as a treat.
looking forward to some sunny day rides next year to lose some of my winter weight gain!
turkey gammon and mince pies etc. oh and the odd tipple of course
thanks for your helpful info provided over the year and all the best .
bowser,

Merry Christmas also. I appreciate all the help this forum has provided this year and hope to have some finished photos of the low level late 60's Gitane. I'm crossing my fingers that Santa will bring me a cotter press on Saturday and then I'm off and running with a couple of projects including the Gitane.

Winter is in full swing here also so it's the indoor trainer for the next couple of months.

Yup, it's that time of year again isn't it? Very Happy

Bowser, it was 29*C at 10am today and I was out there in the sunshine working on a tan and enjoying being on the bike. Twisted Evil

On the other hand, I won't be eating roast turkey and baked vegies on Christmas Day like some of you will. Crying or Very sad I will be having cold ham and salad......... and maybe a beer or three Wink

Hope everybody has a happy and safe holiday.

Lastly, a big thank you to Sandman for hosting our little party for another year. Cool

A seasonal thought for those of you in the colder climes... Wink

BTW, it's cold and raining here in the SF Bay Area, 50° F / 10° C... Crying or Very sad

Went out for a brief ride between showers yesterday afternoon.

It's our "rainy season" and the rain is supposed to continue through Christmas.

I've only seen a brief amount of snow down at sea level in the 30 years that I've lived in the Bay Area. It didn't last for more than a few minutes.

Several times a year the hills and mountains surrounding the Bay get a dusting of snow at altitudes above 1500' / 450 M. They're nice to look at - from a distance. Cool

Best wishes to all, and to all a good night. Santa Chas.

Wisey - I understand why folks "head south" in the winter here. Your temps would be glorious right now.

Rode my mountain bike down the driveway yesterday and only "almost" wrecked twice.

Yep Very Happy - it's really nice when the wind is blowing really hard (much of the summer) and I can sit on my front porch.

Happy Holidays to y'all !

I haven't ridden for the last 2 weeks and the last snow did not melt... it turned to ice, soooo... Probably back on the saddle some time in 2011 !
