Interesting things for the next tour :
-15km time trial the first day in Monaco
-38km team time trial in the first week in Montpellier
-Last time trial on thursday (not saturday) before the finish
-Last stage before the Champs Elysées : Le Mont Ventoux !
On a personnal note : The 8th stage finishes in Saint Girons, where we have a family house, with climbs of the Col de Port (very easy) & Col d'Agnes (not so easy and stunning view over the lake, should make for great helicopter shots).
Only problem being that it's pretty early in the race and i'm not sure we can leave work so early in july...I would SO love to spend the day in the Col d'Agnes climb with my bike... |

I feel it's a terrific route next year, the best for many years. Mt. Ventoux as the penultimate stage will be the decider and the return of the team time trial is very much welcomed. No time bonuses again is also a plus. It would be nice to see the team time trial opened right up on time, to the clock, as with all other stages. I'm not sure of the detail there (does anyone know) but that will come out in time.
The Étape du Tour will follow the Ventoux stage for 2009.

Nicolas:
Get out on the course (towards the finish) and write "Gitane" in the road, so we can all see it. |

Would be great but...word is that there is a U2 Tour hitting France in july...Tour de France is every year, U2 is every 4 years (yes, like the olympics) so...we'll see.
I have a back up plan to climb the Ventoux in august, also. |
