Cool stuff, Nicolas.
I am sure that you noticed this before, but I had a chance to look at and photograph LeMond's 1983 world's bike. It is now behind glass at our local velodrome. He didn't clean it...it still has the dirt from Switzerland on the down tube(!). Also he must have flatted during the race, because one of the wheels is Campagnolo (the other is simplex/maillard). Really neat stuff. Roger Young, who runs the velodrome, let me photograph it...and I would have ridden it, had I felt worthy enough. But something just didn't seem right about doing that! |
I would so love to see it...I wouldn't ride it, not for the same reasons as you : I'm a 57 and I believe Greg is a 52 or 53...This ans the jersey collection you photographed are just the most amazing things.. |

Great find !
Never seen it. There aren't that many pictures of that race. I remember Greg did cut small holes in his leader jersey as it was so hot...somebody put one of those on e-bay a few years ago. I did not have the funds at the time...well, one just can't have every single thing |

I didn't measure the bike, but I think it was a 54...same size as I ride. |

54 sounds a little small for Greg. I think I remember his 89 bike having a 55 ST and a 57 TT. Although, at a ripe old 36 my memory isn't what it used to be. It is also quite possible that his position data changed significantly between 84 and 89. Hinault's position certainly did. I really hope Greg take the time to document a good biography at some point. |

Maybe, but remember Greg changed equipment and position as often as the rest of us change underwear.......
Just kidding, but it really wouldn't surprise me to learn that there were significant differences between what he rode early in his career to what he was riding at the peak of his career. He was certainly an innovator, which basically means that he was happy to keep learning and developing as his career progressed. |

I noticed you didn't have many pics of Greg in PDM colours.
I believe that credit goes to Graham Watson. That looks like his noggin reflected in Greg's glasses. |

At last ! I've updated the site.
Apparently, there some issues with it (some x's instead of pics) but it was a lot of work.
Thanks to Chas & Wisey for their help & patience ! |

Hello, I'm new here.
As a great fan of Lemond starting from the early 80's I've been collecting everything about him. Pictures, articles, magazines, dvd's, vhs, posters, ... My collection is really too big to get it organised. But off course I'm still looking for more.
I'v started a blog/site on http://bestoflemond.blogspot.com/ but this was just a try. My real goal is to create a big site about Greg but time is not by my side so it may take a while.
I already contacted Nicolas about his great site and I'm sure we can exchange a lot of stuff to complete our collection.
There's one thing Ive been looking for a while. It's a VHS about the Dupont Tour in 1992 which LeMond won. It's a yellow cover with a title Zuperman. If there's anybody who has it, please contact me. |

Hi Remedy. Yep, I've got a copy of that video somewhere. I'll look into getting it burned on to DVD if you like. Anyone else want a copy while I'm at it? It's pretty cool actually. Commentary by Davis Phinney (post race production) and I think he supplied the soundtrack from his personal collection. |

That would be just great. I have a picture of the cover. If you want (to be sure) I can mail it to you. |

Remedy: Do you want to scan it and post it up on here? I never had the cover. I got the video when the shop I was working at moved location.
Nicolas: Yeah, I already counted you buddy |
